This is a 6.7 Cummins engine for sale in fairly used condition: a complete 6.7 litre inline-six turbo diesel, pulled from a donor truck, inspected, compression-tested and ready to ship worldwide. It’s the engine behind the Ram 2500 and 3500 from mid-2007 onwards, and the chassis cab 4500 and 5500.
We confirm fitment by VIN and send you photos of the actual engine before you pay.

Trucks This Engine Fits
- Dodge and Ram Heavy Duty 2500 and 3500, mid-2007 on
- Ram 3500, 4500 and 5500 chassis cab
- Some medium trucks, buses and equipment running the ISB 6.7 (different calibration and ancillaries)
Standard and high-output versions differ, and 2019 brought a new block and fuel pump. Send us your VIN and we’ll match the 6.7 Cummins engine for sale to your exact truck.

How the 6.7 Changed Over the Years
- 2007.5 to 2012: the first 6.7 trucks. DPF and EGR, no DEF. Good engines, but the early emissions parts and turbo needed attention.
- 2013 to 2018: DEF arrives on pickups, a high-output version shows up for trucks with the heavy-duty automatic, and torque keeps climbing.
- 2019 on: a lighter compacted graphite block, a new fuel pump and turbo, and much more torque on the high-output version.
Parts like the turbo, fuel pump, sensors and wiring don’t always swap across these groups, and the engine computer has to match. That’s why we ask for the VIN every time instead of guessing from the year. If you’re putting a later engine into an earlier truck, tell us and we’ll talk through what else you’ll need.
Things We Look At Closely
The bottom end on these is about as tough as it gets. What gives trouble is usually bolted to it: EGR coolers and valves, the turbo on some early trucks, and the emissions system as a whole. Trucks that sat idling a lot or were tuned hard tend to show it in the injectors and turbo. We go over all of that on every 6.7 Cummins engine for sale before it’s listed, and we tell you what we find.
Fairly Used, Reconditioned or Rebuilt?
The price here is for a fairly used, tested 6.7 Cummins engine for sale. If the truck pulls a gooseneck every week, we can quote a reconditioned unit with new seals, or a full rebuild. Our guide to remanufactured vs rebuilt engines explains how they differ.

How We Test It
- Compression test on all six cylinders.
- Fuel system checked for contamination.
- Oil checked for coolant, fuel or metal.
- Turbo checked for shaft play and vane movement.
- Block, head and EGR cooler checked for cracks and leaks.
- Photos sent to you, video on request.
Every 6.7 Cummins engine for sale on our site has passed these checks.
Signs It’s Time to Replace Yours
- Low or uneven compression
- Heavy blow-by and oil loss
- A knock from the bottom end
- A cracked head or a dropped valve
EGR, DPF and DEF faults are usually repairable without a new engine. Get them looked at first.
Who Buys This Engine
Hotshot drivers, contractors, farmers, repair shops and buyers overseas running imported Rams. Some people also buy a 6.7 Cummins engine for sale to repower a different truck altogether, which we can talk through with you.
Where Our Engines Come From
Mostly from Ram trucks written off for crash damage or retired from fleets. A lot of them were scrapped for reasons that had nothing to do with the engine. We record the donor for every 6.7 Cummins engine for sale, with mileage where we have it.
Fitment Details We Need
Send us these and we’ll confirm the right 6.7 Cummins engine for sale:
- Truck model and year
- Full VIN
- Manual or automatic, and which transmission
- Standard or high output
- Emissions rules where you are
Before You Buy Any Used 6.7
Whoever you buy from, ask the right questions. Where did the engine come from, and was the donor truck running? What are the compression numbers? Can you see photos of the actual engine, the data plate and the oil? A seller who can’t answer those clearly isn’t worth the risk.
With any 6.7 Cummins engine for sale, find out which year group it belongs to and whether it’s a standard or high-output version. Check if the donor was tuned or had its emissions parts removed, because that can affect injectors, the turbo and whether the engine will pass inspection where you live. Ask about the turbo, since a worn one is a common reason for lost power and smoke.
Look at your own truck too. If the old engine failed because of overheating, a bad radiator or a cracked hose, sort it out before the new engine goes in. If it failed after contaminated fuel, the tank and lines need attention. A lot of second failures come from problems left behind in the truck.
Looking After It Once It’s In
The 6.7 rewards basic care. Change oil and fuel filters on time, drain the water separator, use clean diesel and keep the DEF fresh on later trucks. Let it warm up before towing and cool down after a hard pull. If it idles a lot or only does short trips, take it on a highway run now and then so the DPF can regenerate. Look after your 6.7 Cummins engine for sale that way and it should outlast most of the truck around it. Keep an eye on transmission temperature when towing, since the engine makes plenty of torque.
If something changes after fitting, a new noise, smoke or a warning light, call us early. Small issues are cheap to sort when caught on time, and that’s true of any 6.7 Cummins engine for sale.
Fitting Tips
- New fuel filters and clean diesel.
- Prime the fuel system before first start.
- Fresh oil, filter and coolant.
- Check the EGR, DPF and DEF systems and clear old codes.
- Take it easy for the first few hundred miles.

Shipping
We ship every 6.7 Cummins engine for sale by truck across North America and by sea or air to the rest of the world, including Europe, Africa, the Middle East, Asia, Australia and South America, with tracking. Duties and local fees are paid at your end. See our shipping policy.
How Ordering Works
Once you send your details, we check stock and fitment and come back with a written quote. It shows the engine price, what’s included, the warranty terms and the freight cost to your nearest port or address. Nothing is final until you’ve seen photos of the engine and agreed to the quote. After payment we crate the engine, book the freight and send you the tracking details. Most orders leave us within a few working days, though sea freight to some countries takes several weeks door to door. If you’re in a hurry, ask about air freight. It costs more, but it can save a truck or car from sitting idle for a month.
Warranty and Returns
Every 6.7 Cummins engine for sale is covered against internal mechanical failure, with the terms on your quote. The full rules are in our refund and returns policy.
Other Engines We Sell
We also stock the 6.7 Powerstroke, the Duramax LML, the Cummins ISB, Cummins 6BT, Cummins 4BT and Cummins QSB. For the ISB side of the family, read our Cummins ISB buyer’s guide, or see all Cummins engines and the full shop.
Questions

Will it fit my 2005 Ram?
Not directly. 2003 to early 2007 trucks used the 5.9, which needs different parts to swap.
Is shipping included?
No. We quote freight with the engine.
